Remote Fingerprint Scanning

20110503-112125.jpgWe’re all used to seeing criminals being fingerprinted. Many of us, who have voluntarily been bonded for an employee were fingerprinted as a measure of good faith.

Imagine now, being suspected of a crime, and having your fingerprints taken remotely without your knowledge. Sounds impossible. Fingerprinting requires ink pads or scanning glass, right?

Not any longer. A company called AOS (Advanced Optical Systems) has developed the AIRprint Biometric Scanner—a device which can scan your fingerprints in five seconds—from up to six feet away.
